QIK CHIP™ MULTIPLE FREQUENCY OUTPUT OSCILLATORS RELEASED

QiK Chip™ Multiple Frequency Output Oscillators Released
March 7, 2007 – Yankton, SD – MtronPTI, a leader in the frequency control devices and filtering markets, announces a product enhancement to the QiK Chip™ series of high performance oscillators and VCXOs (voltage controlled crystal oscillators). The new offering further expands the leading-edge technology by allowing up to four independent frequencies to be output from a single device. By a simple logic arrangement, the oscillator output can be switched to any of the predetermined two, three, or four frequencies.
According to Dick Thompson, MtronPTI’s VP of Sales & Marketing, “This latest multi-output enhancement to the QiK Chip™ allows designers a whole added degree of design flexibility. Simplifying designs to switch between frequencies from a single device is an extremely attractive feature. At that same time, the QiK Chip™ offers better than 1 pSec jitter performance and frequency precision as tight as +/- 20ppm.” In addition to the leading edge jitter performance, first article units and production volumes of these products are available with a lead-time of 1 to 2 weeks.
An advantage to using the multiple output products would be that designers could create one single board to be built for different regions of the world that require different operating frequencies. Also, one device could be switched to accommodate the local frequency demands while saving valuable board space. The new multiple output versions are also ideal for applications where space is limited and where the end user is allowed to determine the actual performance requirements of a given system. The new 5x7 mm device is available in CMOS, LVPECL, LVDS, and CML in frequencies as low as 10MHz and up to 1.4GHz.
