Position Summary:

The Process / Manufacturing Engineer – Crystal Focus will report to Manufacturing Engineering Manager and will provide technical expertise necessary to design and develop processes to support quartz crystal resonator fabrication.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Design manufacturing equipment to improve and update crystal manufacturing processes.
  • Designs crystal resonators using various software programs (In house, COMSOL, etc.)
  • Maintains various manufacturing processes which include, but not limited to lapping and polishing, chemical etching, thin film evaporation, cleaning, and sealing.
  • Uses engineering tools and statistical concepts to maintain and improve processes.
  • Generation of production level documentation and procedures
  • Specifies and initiates purchase of manufacturing tools, equipment, and supplies.
  • Plans, specifies, and justifies capital equipment expenditures.
  • Lead product and/or process improvement teams.
  • Works closely with cross-functional engineering groups performing concurrent engineering

  • None

Knowledge, skills, & Abilities:

  • Experience designing quartz crystal resonators is preferred.
  • Experience with manufacturing and fabrication processes regarding quartz crystal resonators (chemical processes, thin film deposition, cleaning, sealing, etc.) is preferred.
  • Understanding of vacuum systems
  • Hands on position requiring interaction among multiple disciplines within MtronPTI
  • Familiarity with multiple software applications such as Microsoft Word, Excel, and Power Point is required.
  • Use of AutoCAD, Solidworks, Minitab and Microsoft AX is preferred.
  • Candidates must possess excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Must be able to work on ITAR items without a license

Education, Experience, & Training:

  • 4-year degree in Engineering or related field
  • > 3 years’ experience in physics, electromechanical design, and or semiconductor processing fields is highly desirable.

Physical Requirements & Working Environment:

  • Firm understanding of safety requirements for chemical processing
