Job Duties and Responsibilities:

• Produce parts as directed by schedule. These include tools, fixtures, and various piece parts
• Ability to read drawings, identify materials and comprehend specifications needed to build above parts.
• Inspect, build & maintain tooling & part fixtures using turning, milling & grinding operations
• Works with plastics and sheet metal as needed to build various piece parts
• Uses a variety of machinist hand tools and precision measuring instruments.
• Computes dimensions. Determines machining and material or parts required.
• Ability to verify settings and do self-inspection ensuring parts are compliant to applicable drawings and specifications
• Perform various tasks such as drilling, cutting, turning, thread chasing, etc. to produce various piece parts
• Debur piece parts as required
• Maintain stock of materials and tools needed for fixture development
• All other assigned duties

Supervises:

• None

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

• 10h+ years of manual machining required
• Basic mechanical aptitude or experience
• Experience with precision measuring equipment (calipers, etc.)
• Able to communicate effectively with others and understand verbal and written instructions
• Self-motivated
• Able to work in a fast-paced environment
• Strong interpersonal and verbal communication skills
• Ability to read English and understand procedures, travelers and process documents

Education, Experience, & Training:

• High school education or GED

Physical Requirements & Working Environment:

• Some light lifting required
• Sitting for long periods
